BONDI ENERGY IS
DECARBONIZING OUR CITIES
ONE BUILDING AT A TIME.

We are on a mission to electrify and increase energy efficiency in multifamily and commercial buildings across North America.

The burning of natural gas for space heating and hot water is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions in North America.

Heat pumps are the answer.

Electrification of space and water heating present a huge opportunity to reduce greenhouse gases. Heat pumps are the most efficient way to decarbonize buildings.

They are 3 to 4 times more energy efficient than gas heated buildings, meaning they significantly lower building carbon emissions and are the most impactful measure you can take toward building electrification. At the same time, heat pumps reduce energy bills, introduce air conditioning, and come with health benefits due to improved air quality.

HEAT PUMP ADVANTAGES

Increase Cap Rate Values

Offset rising electricity costs, interest rates and inflationary operating costs.

Reduce GHG Emissions

Heat pumps reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 38–58% compared to gas furnaces.

Provide both Heating and Cooling

One solution for efficient electrical heating and cooling.

Improve Energy Efficiency, Reduce Energy Bills

Reducing energy bills can also affect affordability. The people in the lowest income bracket often pay the highest percentage of their salary on heating and cooling.

Introduce Air Conditioning

Access to air conditioning is becoming a greater public health concern with global warming.

Improve Air Quality

Inside air quality is impacted by gas-powered stoves and ovens. Additionally, many heat pumps come with the ability to purify the air with MERV 13 filters.

LOCAL INCENTIVES & THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT

This Inflation Reduction Act aims to help slash the United States’ Carbon footprint by 40% by 2030. There are two main components that affect multifamily and commercial buildings.

Increase and Expansion of 179D Energy-Efficient Commercial Building Tax Deduction

The IRA will provide $1 billion for retrofit projects that advance building electrification and improve energy and water efficiency in affordable housing.

Whole building retrofits on affordable multifamily housing can qualify for $4,000 per unit and $400,000 per building in rebates.

Extension and Expansion of 45L Energy-Efficient Home and Multifamily Tax Credit

The maximum tax credit increases to $5,000 per dwelling unit for both single-family and multifamily developments starting in 2023.

Now applicable to all multifamily developments regardless of height, buildings that are 4 stories or taller will be eligible for both 179D tax deductions and 45L tax credits.
