Heat Pumps 101 : How are Heat Pumps Rated for Efficiency?
Heat Pumps are rated for energy efficiency using a Coefficient of Performance (COP) ratio. For example, electric baseboards have a COP of 1, (i.e. they are 100% efficient), whereas heat pumps have a COP of 3-4 (i.e. 300-400% efficient.)
With increasing utility bills, everyone can save by switching to Heat Pumps!
